– The Energetics of Body, Mind and Spirit
21- 24 November at Sandy Cuneo yoga, Brisbane, Australia
Are you interested in what happens in the body, mind and spirit in yoga practice?
Do you want to learn more about energy, how energy can be moved, altered and expanded in order to live life more fuller?
Do you want to learn more around how our bodily anatomy and physiology is affected by energy?
Then this comprehensive training/deepening workshop for dedicated students and teachers is something for you.
In yoga, we work with energy. The energy of the body, mind, soul, and spirit. Often you hear us teachers touch on the deeper layers of the yoga philosophy, that there is deeper aspects of this practice than merely physical.
Over the course of these 3 days, we will cover the chakra system from a well-rounded perspective from asana, pranayama, mantras, and meditation to the philosophy and methodology it is embedded in. This workshop is primarily practical meaning there is a lot of time on the mat. Investigating, opening, strengthening, lengthening, trying, testing.
The Sanskrit word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. There are seven main chakras, which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. To visualize a chakra in the body, imagine a swirling wheel of energy where matter and consciousness meet.
This invisible energy, called Prana, is vital life force, which keeps us vibrant, healthy and alive.
These swirling wheels of energy correspond to massive nerve centers in the body and to the different anatomical segments along the spine. Each of the seven main chakras contains bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being.
Since everything is moving, it’s essential that our seven main chakras stay open, aligned, and fluid. If there is a blockage, energy cannot flow.
In Chakrayoga, we see the human as a whole, with the spine and nervous system at its core. This course will give a much deeper understanding on what the chakras are and how they correlate to our anatomy, bioenergy, and physiology, and many tools in how you can take your yoga practice further and deepen it as well as make it more designed to fit your needs.
