Humanity is under massive change and we are challenged on all levels.
Crisis. Destruction. Hindrance of flow. Unhealth. Big egos. Narcissists ruling companies and governments. Terror trying to fear us out of our hearts.
I am as well as many of you, tired of the whole terror thing, yes. That it is still being fed through hate and fear and of ignorance and revengeful acts. But then I lift my gaze- and see that the world has looked like this for centuries and eras. We exist in a rythm of darkness and light. Us humans get too fixated by the light that we ignore the dark. Thats why it can grab us so easily and make us tired, depressed (=supressed anger), and reactive. I think we can all agree that humanity is growing and in a way these are growing pains. Horrible ones. 😢

“No mud- no lotus”, one of my teachers; Thich Nhat Hanh said to us students and he has written a great book about this. It means, he said: “without suffering there can be no happiness, without the grit there is nothing to create a pearl. There has to be something that wakes us out of dullness and mechanical living to be able to appreciate the present moment.”

Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.In order to study the art of happiness, we have to understand the significance of suffering. Even those situations that make life feel unfair and purposeless. In every situation, especially the darker ones, there is something to be taken. It might be a lesson, a memory, an awareness or a reminder that life is truly fragile; a fragility that that solidifies the beauty and gratitude we all hold within ourselves.

So many events of terror has occurred in the past months now. The terrorists are really aiming to induce fear in all of us. And to a certain degree they succeed but only for a moment. A moment in history. Since we are many more that are willing to fight for openness, love, understanding, socio-economic balance, human rights and equality.

Over the years, I have read so many great articles and books on the topic of fear, war, terrosism, spirituality, freedom and more by brilliant journalists, philosophers, scientists and thinkers. So the world has so much intelligence, wisdom and experience to delve from. I say we come together more and share these insights much more than we are doing.

From a spiritual standpoint, on the aspect of terrorism,  Master; Sadhguru says:
“The purpose of terrorism is not war but to cripple a society with fear. Their aim is to spread panic among the people, divide the society, derail the economic growth of the country, create strife, violence and lawlessness at every level – in other words, reduce the country to a failed state.”

Even though we can reason spiritually, philosophically or politically around the terror: I feel you Manchester, London, France, Turkey, Brussels and all other places that has gotten wounded .

❤️My heart and everything I got goes to you and the victims.

Love,

Ulrica
